All adults aged 18 or over are welcome to join these courses. All levels of ability will be catered for, from beginners to advanced.
If you haven’t done any drawing or painting before don’t worry as an introductory programme for beginners will be incorporated into each class.

It will be run at the West Clare Resource Centre, Ballard Road, Miltown Malbay.

You will need to bring your own materials to each class.
If you are new to painting I would recommend using acrylic paints as they dry quickly and changes can be made easily.
I will bring some materials of my own for the first night so that you can see what you need to get. Please see link below.

However if you already have done some painting and have some materials then bring these along;
in this case you may work in whichever medium you choose e.g. oils, acrylics, water colour, pastel or pencil drawing.

List of recommended equipment and materials.

COURSE PROGRAMME

New students are especially welcome. In the first half-hour I will be concentrating on working with any beginners that are in the class.

Improvers will be free to choose their own subject matter. Students may work either from direct observation (for example a still-life) or from photographs or other images.
If in doubt bring a selection of things to work from. Students need to be able to work on their own for most of the class.
I will offer advice on the work in progress during the class.
Students may work in any chosen medium for example oils, acrylics, water-colours or pastels.

All are welcome to the classes. The atmosphere is friendly and the emphasis is on enjoying what you do.
